Joshua Oppenheimer, le r\u00e9alisateur, s\u2019est rendu en Indon\u00e9sie 50 apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;un des pires massacres du XX<sup>\u00e8me <\/sup>si\u00e8cle qui fit plusieurs centaines de milliers de victimes dans une indiff\u00e9rence totale. Un demi-si\u00e8cle plus tard, les survivants se font toujours discrets et h\u00e9sitent \u00e0 t\u00e9moigner. Les bourreaux en revanche ne se sont pas fait prier pour \u00e9voquer ces \u00e9v\u00e9nements devant la cam\u00e9ra. A cette plong\u00e9e sans concessions ni jugement dans le monde des vainqueurs, s\u2019ajoute encore le projet des bourreaux de rejouer les tortures et les ex\u00e9cutions \u00ab\u00a0pour les besoins du film\u00a0\u00bb en une gla\u00e7ante mise en abyme des massacres de 1965.<\/p>\n<p>Inutile de le pr\u00e9ciser, <em>The act of killing <\/em>est un film-documentaire extr\u00eamement dur. Avec ces hommes reproduisant leurs exactions pass\u00e9es devant la cam\u00e9ra, le film tire la notion de documentaire aussi loin que possible. La violence simul\u00e9e n\u2019est jamais choquante en soi (les \u00abacteurs\u00bb usent et abusent de quantit\u00e9s baroques de faux sang kitsch), mais l\u2019\u00e9vocation rend le documentaire traumatisant; \u00e0 l\u2019exemple de cette sc\u00e8ne o\u00f9 un ancien bourreau larde une peluche de coups de couteau pour expliquer comment il avait tu\u00e9 le nourrisson d\u2019une communiste. On entre brutalement dans l\u2019univers que ces criminels ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 autour de ces meurtres et de toute la folie cach\u00e9e qui en \u00e9mane.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
