EquOpp

If you care about equity and social justice, EquOpp is made for you!

EquOpp (short for Equal Opportunities) aims to raise awareness among students, and, in particular, within the bodies of the Fribourg General Students' Association (AGEF), such as the Student’s Council (CE) and the Executive Committee on issues relating to social justice and the various forms of discrimination.

Discrimination reporting Tool

Have you experienced or witnessed discrimination? You can report it here!

Our discrimination reporting Tool was created at the instigation of EquOpp, the AGEF's thematic commission for equity and social justice. It is supported by the Student’s Council (CE), the School Board, and various university bodies; it was set up to enable anyone who is a member of the University of Fribourg to report situations that they have judged to be discriminatory both towards themselves and/or towards others.

This statistical tool is an entirely anonymous questionnaire, and the data collected is treated in the strictest confidence by a dedicated Working Group mandated by the Executive Committee.

For ease of access, the tool is available in 4 languages: French, German, Italian and English.

For more information, or if you have any problems with the tool, please contact us at: discriminations@unifr.ch

As students, we don't have the capacity to deal with the situations you might report. That's why, if you need to, we encourage you to talk about it! There are many resources available to you at the University of Fribourg, so don't hesitate to use them!

First name/pronoun change procedures

For official changes to civil status, all changes can be made directly on myunifr.ch. Should you encounter any difficulties with this procedure, please contact valentine.loye@unifr.ch or the Registration Office.

For a request concerning a first name or preferred pronoun not officially registered with the civil registry, please send your request directly to valentine.loye@unifr.ch with the following details: first name, surname and preferred gender, with or without modification of the photo on the student card. In general, all the accounts concerned (e-mail address, switch, card, moodle, etc.) will be adapted accordingly. Should this not be done automatically, please either inform Valentine Loye or write directly to the University's IT Department: Micromus.

Request for a gender-neutral diploma

For any request for a gender-neutral diploma, please contact diploma@unifr.ch. Since deadlines are set by the Faculties, the request must be made once the student receives confirmation of the final faculty certificate validation.

If you would like your preferred name to be used during the roll call at the ceremony, you must contact your Faculty - which is the body organizing the ceremony - to submit your request directly, prefeably when you receive the invitation to the ceremony (usually about one month beforehand). Please note that each Faculty has different deadlines and procedures, so it is best to contact the relevant Faculty or Faculties directly for any questions regarding the day of the ceremony.

If you receive a gendered-diploma and wish to have it changed to a gender-neutral version, you must submit your request to diploma@unifr.ch within a maximum of 30 days after the graduation ceremony.
